Services for Randall Byron Hazlip, 59, of Natchez, father of Hattiesburg’s Carly Hazlip, were held March 2 at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Latham officiating.
Mr. Hazlip was born Aug. 18, 1960, in Natchez, to Elbert Byron Hazlip, Jr. and Nelma Lee Floyd. He died Feb. 27, 2020, in Natchez after a brief illness.
Hazlip was a lifelong resident of Natchez and a longtime licensed insurance agent, most recently with his own firm, Hazlip Insurance.
In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to music and playing the drums.
Mr. Hazlip was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Floyd, of Natchez; and one brother Dwight Hazlip, also of Natchez.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; daughter Carly Hazlip Gustafson and husband, David, of Hattiesburg; son Daniel Hazlip of Albany, Louisiana; stepdaughter Daniella A. Perales of Natchez; mother Nelma Hazlip of Natchez; and two brothers, Mike Hazlip and Kyle Hazlip, both of Natchez.
Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Kyle Hazlip, Doug Stilley, Ben Myers, Jay Floyd, Leland Rymer and Keith Kilgarlin.
Memorials may be made in Hazlip’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
