Mary Joyce Hollingsworth Eaton, of Hattiesburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 13, 2023 at the age of 86, at her home, surrounded by family.
A graveside service for her will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 10 a.m. in Petal, Mississippi at Ideal Primitive Baptist Church, where she has been a member for over 70 years.
Mrs. Eaton devoted her life as a homemaker and was a loving wife and helpmate to Mack A. Eaton for 67 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris Lee Hollingsworth and Trudy Viola Hollingsworth; brother, Dale Lee Hollingsworth; sister, Karen Pipkins; and daughter-in-law, Janet Eaton.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Mack A. Eaton; children, Cindy Lowe (Clay) and Tim Eaton, both of Hattiesburg; sister, Francis McSwain (Bill) of Orlando, Florida; aunt, Helen Williams of Laurel, Mississippi; grandchildren, Lauren Orrick of Hattiesburg and Chris Eaton (Kristen) of Florence, Mississippi; five great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruth Hollingsworth of Seattle, Washington; brother-in-law, John Pipkins of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Glynn Felix Ladner, 67, of Hattiesburg, passed away on November 8, 2023 at Merit Health Wesley Medical Center. Visitation was held on November 13 at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg. A graveside service followed at Felix Ladner Cemetery in Lumberton.
Mr. Ladner grew up a member of Gum Pond Baptist Church. He was a talented football player in high school and a talented welder, who always said left-handed welders were the best welders. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lead a helping hand to any one in need. He loved his family, especially his sister and mother, who he looked after until her passing. He enjoyed being outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glynn Joseph and Mary Lou Kemp Ladner; and a cousin, Jimmy Roland Skinner. He is survived by his sister, Rhonda Calcote (Bruce); an aunt, Molly Christine Skinner; and a cousin, Betty Ratcliff.
