Pamela Louise Dalme November 30, 1948 - June 15, 2023
Pamela Louise Dalme, a beloved resident of Hattiesburg, MS passed away, surrounded by her loved ones, on June 15th, 2023, after a courageous battle with ALS.
Pamela, affectionately known as Pam, was born on November 30th, 1948, in Shreveport, LA, to Malcolm Arthur and Marilyn Louise Kurz. As the eldest of three children, she cherished her role as an older sister to Butch and Debbie. Pam graduated from C.E. Bird High School in 1966 and went on to pursue her education at Northwestern State University, where she earned a degree in Education and became a proud member of Delta Zeta Sorority. She received her Master’s degree in Education and then went on to receive her Specialist degree in Education Administration at Mississippi State University. During her time at Northwestern, she met Lester Leo Dalme, the love of her life, and they embarked on a journey that lasted 55 beautiful years, filled with love, joy, and the creation of a wonderful family.
After completing her education, Pam began her career as an Educator at Jackson Academy before relocating to Philadelphia, MS. Throughout her professional journey, she served in various capacities, including Title One Director, Special Education Director, Principal of Tucker Schools, and Superintendent of the Choctaw Tribal Schools. Despite her successful career, Pam always prioritized her family, raising their two daughters, Renee and Kristy, with unwavering love and dedication. They instilled in them the values of compassion, resilience, and a deep appreciation for family. In 1995, she made the selfless decision to retire and dedicate herself to being a stay-at-home Nana for her beloved grandchildren, Conner, Cameron, Clayton, and Thomas.
Pam will be remembered by all who knew her as a kind, nurturing, and thoughtful woman who embraced multiple roles in life. She was a devoted Wife, Mom, Nana, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. Above all, she was a faithful servant of the Lord, whose faith guided her every step. Pam's dedication to her family and friends was unparalleled, and she found great fulfillment in her involvement at St. Fabian Catholic Church, where she served as a role model to many. Her home was always open, welcoming friends both old and new, and she had a remarkable talent for making everyone feel cherished and important. Pam possessed the ability to transform simple ingredients into gourmet meals, and her table was always abundant and welcoming. She had a heart full of love and compassion, and her home was a place of refuge and comfort to all who entered.
In February 2020, Pam welcomed a cherished addition into her life, a Golden Doodle named Marly, who brought immeasurable joy and unwavering companionship. Their bond was truly extraordinary, and Marly held a special place in Pam's heart, providing endless love and comfort throughout their time together.
In closing, let us remember Pam as a remarkable woman who touched countless lives with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and devotion that will continue to inspire us all. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
