Kathleen Florence Koch Lowery (87), of Petal, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 at her home in Leeville, MS. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Moore Petal Chapel, followed by interment in Highland Cemetery.
Mrs. Lowery was born on February 16, 1937 to George and Doris Koch. She was a member of Carterville Baptist Church. She was a first grade teacher assistant in the Petal School System for many years. Mrs. Lowery had a special gift working with children. Her greatest joy was being a homemaker. Any person who walked into her home felt welcome. Her hospitality made everyone who visited want to return. She made life better for everyone around her. She was an excellent cook. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and canning. Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren. In her later years, it became her great grandchildren.
Mrs. Lowery was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Bethea “H.B.” Lowery; her parents, George and Doris Koch; her brother, Kenneth G. Koch; and her sisters, Betty K. Herring and Stella M. Koch.
She is survived by her four children, Cathi Jefcoat (Gregg), Mike Lowery (Debbie), Mack Lowery (Paige), and Pattie Lowery; her grandchildren, Julie Lowery George (Stephen), Chris Lowery (Cristina), Austin Lowery (Amanda), Cory Mack Lowery, Jake Lowery (Shelbi), Luke Lowery (Brooke), Beau Jefcoat (Violet), and Bret Jefcoat; 12 great grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy Williamson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her grandsons served as her pallbearers.
