Southern Miss seniors Sarah Van Schaik and Samantha Papp have faced off against each other on the opposite side of the diamond for a big part of their softball careers.
ST. MARTIN – Like a snowball rolling down a hill, errors and miscues started to mount up for the Oak Grove Warriors in Game 3 of a 6A third-round series.
OAK GROVE – This time there was no late-inning magic for Oak Grove. Indeed, there was no magic at all.
With a chance to sweep the Class 6A third round series against St. Martin at home, the Warriors came out flat, as the Yellow Jackets defeated the Warriors 6-2 Friday night at Harry Breland Field.
ST. MARTIN – If Thursday night's Game 1 is any indication of what's to come, the rest of the St. Martin-Oak Grove playoff series will not be lacking in fireworks.

For the seventh time in the last eight seasons, the Oak Grove Warriors are gearing up for a third-round series in the 6A baseball playoffs. Their best-of-three series with the St. Martin Yellowjackets begins Thursday, and is coming on the heels of a sweep of Harrison Central in the second round.

Oak Grove got some lucky breaks when it was needed most and cashed them in for a dramatic 4-3 victory over Harrison Central in the second round of the Class 6A playoffs Friday night at Harry Breland Field.
