With the boys’ program getting much of the attention, the Oak Grove Lady Warriors are silently off to a great start in the 2019-20 basketball season. Sitting at 10-5 overall, Coach Mark Swindle and the Lady Warriors are doing everything they can to keep the streak alive as district play gets underway.

The Oak Grove boys basketball team went into a hostile environment Tuesday and knocked off No. 3 Meridian in a key divisional matchup, giving Oak Grove sole possession of first place in district play.
It was the “Jay Barnes and Blake Roberts Show” Friday night when the two out scored Petal 60-53 on the way to a 88-53 trouncing home win over the Panthers.
Barnes nailed 12 three-pointers and 42 points overall to lead the Warriors. Roberts ended with 18 with 14 of those coming in the first half.
Oak Grove High School’s men’s basketball team put on a scoring clinic last Thursday night as they cruised to a 65-22 win against Purvis Tornadoes to capture the 2019 Lamar County Tournament.
The Oak Grove Warriors start the basketball season looking to pick up where they left off last year. Having their best year with Coach LaRon Brumfield at the helm has Oak Grove hungry to build off of a style of play that got the Warriors a 25-win season last year.

Hattiesburg won Tuesday night’s hard court battle 53-47 in a back and forth exchange between crosstown-rival Oak Grove.
Nick Walker lead the Tigers with 18 points and gave the Warriors its first defeat of the season as they hosted Oak Grove in front of a packed house.
