Following her surprise notification in January, an Oak Grove teacher graced the red carpet of the Milken Educator Awards- an honor coined, “The Oscars of teaching”. Along with the all-expenses-paid trip to Los Angeles for the award ceremony, Duplessy is also the recipient of a $25,000 cash prize, a lifetime membership to the Milken educator network, mentorship and professional development opportunities and access to a network of over 3,000 educators.
“We honor the achievements of 2024’s Milken Educators, who dedicate their lives to providing students with the high-quality education they need and deserve,” said Lowell Milken, founder of the Milken Education Awards. “We shine a spotlight on these extraordinary change agents so that when they return to their communities, they will know that their impact is not only noticed but also treasured.
