The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced Tuesday morning that Pearl River baseball's KK Clark (Brandon) has been named the conference's Pitcher of the Week.
Clark earns the award after a completely dominant start on the road against Meridian. In a run-rule victory over the Eagles, Clark threw a five-inning no-hitter while punching out eight batters. The only Meridian players to reach base were on a walk and two hit-by-pitches. Behind Clark's dominance and an offensive explosion, the Wildcats took the game 14-0.
The Mississippi State transfer and future Louisiana Tech Bulldog has been as advertised for Pearl River this season. He has made 10 starts on the mound and has a 6-1 record. The right-hander has thrown 45 innings this season, holding an incredible 1.20 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. He has struck out 64 batters against just 13 walks. He has a strikeouts per nine innings of 12.80.
