October 25 is the one spooky night of the year when the African American Military History Museum comes to life! Booseum is a family-friendly event held annually at the historic USO, located in the Sixth Street Museum District. The museum will be filled with haunted Halloween décor, from spiders, bats and witches; you never know what’s lurking around each corner.
Guests are encouraged to celebrate in style, so be sure to wear your spookiest or kookiest costumes. There will be lots of Halloween-themed activities, treats, games, face painting and much more.
"Booseum is one of my favorite dall traditions,” said Latoya Norman, general manager of Museums for the Hattiesburg Convention Commission. “I love seeing the space transformed into something out of the ordinary.
“Museum staff is very much looking forward to seeing all of the costumes this year, and welcoming families and friends to the fun-filled annual event."
Prowl the halls on a spooktacular scavenger hunt, guaranteed to give guests the heebie-jeebies and lift everyone’s spirits. The evening will include a costume contest, and adults may wear costumes, but they should be family friendly; please, nothing scary or violent.
The night will conclude with a Trick-or-Treat Tour through exhibits, so stick around and let the ghoul times roll.
Tickets can be purchased at the museum entrance. The event is free for members, $2 for children and $3 for parents. For additional information, please contact the museum at 601.450.1942. or visit Facebook and HattiesburgUSO .com.
