The City of Petal is gearing up for two upcoming events to honor military service members for Veterans Day.
The first event, a Veterans Day Program, will be held from noon-2 p.m. Nov. 9 at Petal Civic Center on South Main Street. The event is open to the public, and lunch will be provided.
A Veterans Day Salute Cookout will follow from noon-2 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Petal Center for Seniors & Veterans, 425 East Central Avenue. The event, which is sponsored by the Petal Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Merchants Foodservice, the City of Petal and the 2nd Battalion of the 177th Armored Brigade, is open to local veterans and their families.
Free food and drink will be provided.
