During this year’s Sales & Marketing Professionals Pine Belt Pinnacle Awards, Purvis High School senior Reyanna Reid was presented with a scholarship for her education.
According to Michael Marks, awards program chairman, one of the main missions of the organization is to invest in the future of the industry. “Through year-round programming and special events, students interested in sales and marketing are not only invited, but are encouraged to attend and welcomed warmly to our meetings,” Marks said. “It is our hope, not only to lessen the financial burden for these students, but to provide encouragement, mentorship and support through their college years.”
This year SMP received nominations and applications from students across the Pine Belt. After a thorough application and review process, one high school student has earned a scholarship for her education.
According to Reid’s nominator, “Her work ethic and positive attitude point her towards a successful career.”
Reid organized a car wash, generating $1,000 in cash for her color guard and was voted “Best Positive Attitude” by the Tornado Student Body.
Upon graduation, she will enroll at Pearl River Community College, where she will study marketing, then pursue a bachelor’s degree at Southern Miss with a minor in hospitality management.
