Lamar County School District travels to Barn at Bridlewood for Roll and Read

By BUSTER WOLFE,

The annual Roll and Read event sponsored by the Lamar County School District’s Parents as Teachers will be held Tuesday, May 1, at the Barn at Bridlewood, 32 Railroad Road.

Alicia Clark of Parents as Teachers said the book, “Little Blue Truck” by Alice Schertle, will be featured during the two sessions on May 1.

“We serve all of our LCDD pre-K classes during the day,” she said. “Then, we will serve our Parents as Teachers families that later afternoon.”

Sessions are scheduled from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. for the Lamar County School District’s pre-kindergarten classes, while the other session is 4-5:30 p.m.

Expected to be available to the children are farm animals, ponies and games.

If inclement weather forces the Roll and Read indoors, the event will be moved to Oak Grove Primary School’s Performing Arts Center, 70 Leaf Lane.
