Three-year residents join FGH residency programBy STAFF REPORTS,
Forrest General Hospital welcomes its fourth class of three-year residents into the Forrest General Family Medicine Residency Program.
These doctors will practice at the Forrest General Hospital Family Medicine Center located on the first floor of Hattiesburg Clinic and will rotate through many different departments throughout the three-year program.
Additionally, the residents have an inpatient service allowing them to admit patients into the hospital as necessary and continue to provide them care.
To be accepted into this highly-competitive residency program, applicants must be graduates of accredited United States or Canadian medical schools or colleges of osteopathic medicine in the United States, and they must hold an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Mississippi. After all applications have been reviewed, only the best candidates are selected for on-site interviews during which they will be judged based on their aptitudes, academic credentials, personal characteristics, and communication skills. Of those interviewed, FGH chooses only six candidates to become residents.
