Sacred Heart School’s children’s theater troupe, Centerstage, will present Xanadu Jr. at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, and 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11.
This is the third year CenterStage, made up of seventh and eighth grade students, has staged a performance. CenterStage’s first through sixth-grade students will present Peter Pan Jr. in the spring.
Under the direction of Olivia Drinkwater and Abigail Allen, money earned from ticket sales will go to help keep theater alive at the school.
The show is a take on the classic movie staring Olivia Newton John, with classic songs by ELO (Electric Light Orchestra).
“The kids have had a blast learning the dialogue which contains throw back references to the ’80s,” Drinkwater said. “They also have a newfound appreciation for ELO!”
CenterStage assistant teachers are Allison Neville and Michael Ginn.
“We have had amazing design help from Tom Seibert and Lester Gire,” said Drinkwater. “They are genius!”
Tickets are available thru EventBrite.
