A man who was killed after being struck by two vehicles Friday has been identified.
Forrest County Deputy Coroner Lisa Klem said Claude Jacob Barnard, 29, of Purvis, died from injuries sustained in the incident.
According to a statement from Ryan Moore, public information officer with Hattiesburg Police Department, police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle shortly after 10 p.m. Friday in the 4000 block of U.S. 11. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Barnard deceased on the roadway.
Drivers of both vehicles stopped at the scene of the accident and were questioned by police. No charges have been filed.
The investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call HPD at (601) 544-7900.
