Downtown walkability study available

The public is invited to help make downtown Hattiesburg a greater place to be.

How? Just by taking a walk!

The Design Committee of Downtown Hattiesburg invites you to participate in a new online survey that will help them look at "walkability" or the pedestrian experience in downtown Hattiesburg.

Just hop on to access the survey link or you can access it directly at

Choose at least one block of downtown to actively walk, observe and fill out a short survey about your experience.

The committee will be collecting survey information through April.

By gathering information about the pedestrian experience downtown, this group hopes to map out a more attractive, safe, and engaging experience for all who work, live, and play downtown.

Prizes! Oh, and did we mention the gift cards? Once you submit at least one completed survey questionnaire, we will enter your name in a monthly drawing for a gift card from one of our great downtown businesses!

**If you prefer old fashioned paper, you may pick up survey forms at the Downtown Hattiesburg Visitor's Center, 201 E Front St. or in the main lobby of City Hall at 200 Forrest St. More information, call 601-554-1031.
