Hotel Indigo is going to the dogs.
Beginning March 7, the hotel will partner with Southern Pines Animal Shelter in “Suite Pups,” a program that will allow the hotel to serve as a foster home for dogs who are searching for their forever homes.
“The dogs will be living in our lobby and will be taken care of by our staff,” said Kelsey Barrett, director of sales. “We will even be provided with the dog’s adoption papers, so if we have any guests who fall in love with our pups, they can take them home immediately. All they need is you.”
There will only be one dog at a time for no longer than a two-week period.
“This is an opportunity for the dog to become more socialized and of course, spend time out of the shelter,” Barrett said. The enclosure will be next to the front desk in the lobby and guests and visitors will be able to interact with the dog.”
Southern Pines received a financial grant to assist the hotel with all of the caretaking needs.
Adoption fees will be the same as if adopting at the shelter, with all proceeds being returned to the shelter.
A launch party will be held at the midtown hotel on March 7. At that time, Southern Pines will be onsite with other animals that are adoption ready.
