Area high school graduations kick off Thursday


Nine  Forrest and Lamar county high schools will be playing their best versions of “Pomp and Circumstance” starting Thursday as approximately 1,305 seniors march across stages to receive their diplomas.

Action begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 17, when Petal High School seniors graduate at Reed Green Coliseum on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi.

Three high schools are scheduled to hold graduation ceremonies on Friday, May 19: Presbyterian Christian School, Lamar Christian School and Hattiesburg High School. All three schools will kick off at 7 p.m.

PCS seniors will graduate in the school gymnasium. Lamar Christian School holds its ceremony at First Baptist Church in Purvis. Hattiesburg High School’s graduation will be in Reed Green Coliseum.

On Saturday, May 19, Sacred Heart Catholic School seniors graduate at 2 p.m. at UWM’s Bennett Auditorium.
