Pine Belt Heart Gala
The American Heart Association will hold the 2019 Pine Belt Heart Gala from 6-9 p.m. Friday, May 3, at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Wilkins. Chaired by Sherry Duff and Liz Cotten, this year’s Gala will honor Mary Margaret Tatum and remember Dr. K. Ramsay O’Neal.
This exclusive event will feature extraordinary silent auction items from local businesses, heavy hors d’oeuvres provided by Southern Oaks, an open bar sponsored by Hattiesburg Coca-Cola, Lincoln Road Package Store, Stokes Distributing, as well as live entertainment by Charles Carter.
A core fundraising event, the Pine Belt Heart Gala raises money to fight our nation’s Number 1 (heart disease) and Number 5 (stroke) killers.

RUN FOR THE ROSES
An annual fundraising event supporting Purposeful Refuge and their mission to heal hearts, minds and strengthen bodies through equine-assisted activities and therapies, Run for the Roses is set for 3:30 p.m. May 4, at Magnolias & Manes, 5234 US Highway 11, Purvis. Guests are invited to wear your best "Derby Attire," because it’s a big hat occasion.
There will be a silent auction along with ticket sales to raise money for the charity and guests will watch the Kentucky Derby Race live at 5:50 p.m. Ticket price is $125 and can be purchased at bit.ly/2ImvkHR. The event will be catered by Cotton Blues.
Pink Ribbon Tea
“The Tea,” sponsored by the Pink Ribbon Fund, will take place from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Southern Oaks. Doors open at 1 p.m. Tickets are $35 or a table for 10 is $350.
This event will feature Cynthia Stuart, a dynamic speaker who will motivate you, make you laugh and will give you lots of “food for thought.”
Prizes will be awarded including “Prettiest in Pink” and “Best Dressed Southern Style.”
