The fall War & Society Roundtable, a partnership between The University of Southern Mississippi’s Dale Center for the Study of War & Society and the Hattiesburg, Petal and Forrest County Public Library continues at 6 p.m. on Oct. 13 and Nov. 10 with online programming.
“The lineup for the fall is extremely exciting, anchored by an October guest appearance via Zoom by Michael Dobbs, a fellow in the Simon-Skjodt Center for the Prevention of Genocide at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum,” said Joshua Haynes, coordinator of this year’s roundtable series. “HPL Director Sean Farrell organized this appearance, which will focus on Dobbs’ book ‘The Unwanted: America, Auschwitz and a Village Caught in Between.’
“The truncated fall schedule concludes in November with USM History Professor Douglas Bristol moderating a discussion of ‘Harp of Burma,’ sometimes referred to as the Asian ‘All Quiet on the Western Front.’”
Meetings will be held virtually. For Zoom links, email Sean Farrell, director of the Hattiesburg library, at sean@hpfc.lib.ms.us.
Books are available for checkout at the circulation desk of the Hattiesburg library at 329 Hardy Street.
The program is in its 14th year.
