Don’t be alarmed if you happen to be out in your yard Saturday morning and see a group of Minions running down the street in front of your house.
They’re friendly and are running for a good cause.
On Saturday, March 23, the Thames Elementary PTA will host its annual 5K Midtown Minion run. Race time is 8 a.m. and begins at the school located at 2800 Jamestown Road.
The event carries runners through the University Heights and Jamestown-Lincoln neighborhoods in Hattiesburg.
Funds raised during the event will go to improve the school and community playground area.
The Thames Elementary playground and walking track are used by the school and by the community outside of school hours.
You can preregister at https://bit.ly/2OfKn6a or contact ptathames@gmail.com for sponsorship or race information. Registration is $25.
Packet Pick up/registration will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, March 22, by the Thames Track. Race day registration begins at 7 p.m. Saturday.
And while you may not see Kevin, Stuart or Bob, the three most familiar Minions, you’re sure to spot a good-natured parent or two doing their best Minion impersonation.
