Downtown to embrace Small Business Saturday
November 24 is Small Business Saturday and downtown Hattiesburg is participating in this holiday shopping tradition. This special day, backed by American Express, is designed to celebrate small businesses like those located in historic downtown. From 10 a.m.-6 p.m., downtown merchants will be open with holiday specials while participating in the Passport Promotion. Customers are invited to make a purchase at downtown merchants to get a stamp on their passport, which will be redeemable for free merchandise and gifts around the downtown district.
Grab a friend or family member and #GetDowntown for Shop Small Saturday and celebrate the day by using #ShopSmall on Facebook, Instagram, and all your social networks.

At 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, the parade will begin at Hawkins Elementary and wrap up at Town Square Park, where the program for the tree lighting will begin at 7:15 p.m. Additional activities include photo opportunities with Santa and Mrs. Clause in Santa’s Village, smART Space art horses, as well as food and beverage vendors. To conclude the night, several downtown Hattiesburg businesses will be open. In conjunction, Downtown Hattiesburg's window-decorating contest will share the theme of “Joy” and be on display throughout the holiday season.
