Eggztremely Eggciting: Hop over to Zoo Easter celebration

Hop on over to the Hattiesburg Zoo for an Eggz-Otic Easter celebration from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, April 21.

Guests are invited to go wild for games, keeper chats, and endless entertainment on the splash pad. To top it all off, the Golden Egg Hunt returns offering visitors a chance to win highly sought-after prizes.

Fun-filled eggs will include prizes ranging from snow cone vouchers to free train and carousel rides, discounts at the Gift Shop, and more.

The eggs will be hidden in various locations around the zoo. Two “special” golden eggs are up for grabs for two lucky winners to receive one-of-a-kind, unique prizes.

“Our Easter event offers entertainment for the entire family,” said Demetric Kelly, guest services and retail manager. “This year is sure to be a little more eggz-otic than the last.”

The festivities also feature a DIY egg-painting station, as well as a coloring station, and movies all day in the Asbury Discovery Center.

Parents are welcome to capture lasting memories with their children and the Easter Bunny; photo ops will be available from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The “Golden” Rules

• All ages are welcome to hunt for eggs.

• Exchange your Golden Egg at the location listed on the ticket.

• Have FUN, but stay in designated guest areas.

Appetizing food and drink selections will be available at Safari Grill.

Admission is $5, and children under 2 are free. Annual passes apply. Tickets can be purchased at the gate the day of the event. For additional information, call the Hattiesburg Zoo at 601.545.4576 or visit online at HattiesburgZoo.com.
