A former Earl Travillion Attendance Center teacher has surrendered to Hattiesburg police and has been charged with one county of sexual battery from a position of trust or authority.
According to a statement from Ryan Moore, public information officer at Hattiesburg Police Department, Nicole Jackson, 30, of Purvis, turned herself in Tuesday as part of an ongoing investigation. The investigation began in March, when police received details of an inappropriate relationship between Jackson and a student.
Jackson, who according to Earl Travillion's website was an eighth-grade reading and language teacher, had recently resigned from the school.
Forrest County Jail records state Jackson’s bond was set at $10,000, which she later posted.
