HBURG WOMAN STABS FRIEND’S BOYFRIEND
Hattiesburg Police responded to a report of a stabbing just before midnight late last Friday evening in the 700 block of Duke Avenue – just a few blocks from the Hattiesburg Police Department.
According to reports, a black male was transported from the scene by ambulance with an apparent stab wound from a friend of his girlfriend.
The couple was involved in a verbal altercation when an acquaintance of the man’s girlfriend, 30-year-old Amanda Hagler, of Hattiesburg, allegedly stabbed the male.
Hagler was taken into custody at the scene, charged with one count of aggravated assault, and booked into the Forrest County Jail.
POLICE: KEEP EYE OUT FOR FUGITIVE
Hattiesburg police officials are asking the public to be on the lookout for a 22-year-old Hattiesburg man in connection with an armed robbery on March 31.
Kendrick Tevon Lee has active warrants for one count of armed robbery, and two counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

SUSPECT ARRESTED IN HBURG SHOOTING
A 28-year-old Hattiesburg man was arrested Thursday – a day after he is believed to have been involved in a shooting.
Tommy Moore was taken into custody in the 2300 block of West 7th Street on April 4 and charged with one count of attempted aggravated assault in connection with the April 3 incident in the 100 block of Plantation Place Drive. No one was injured.
ESCAPEE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
Hattiesburg police officers assisted agents with the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force last Wednesday, April 3, in apprehending an escaped fugitive from Pike County.
Charles Willis, 55, was taken into custody just before 1:30 a.m. at the Park Pine Apartments.
Willis was sentenced in early March to 35 years in prison for controlled substance trafficking and fleeing law enforcement in Walthall County.
BROTHERS ACCUSED IN LAMAR COUNTY DEATH OUT ON BOND
Two Hattiesburg brothers who were arrested in connection with a March 29 fight that left one man dead have both bonded out of jail while the investigation continues.
Martez Shoemaker, 27, and his younger brother, Mike Shoemaker, 18, were arrested five days following the shooting death of 23-year-old Jumarus Daniels.
The elder brother has been charged with manslaughter; the other with hindering prosecution.
Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel said the shooting happened at an apartment complex on Shears Road, located just off of Weathersby Road in West Hattiesburg.
Rigel said Daniels was shot to death after a fight broke out between the men.
The investigation is ongoing, according to Rigel.
CAUGHT IN THE ACT
Hattiesburg police responded to an auto burglary in progress last Tuesday morning, April 2 near Cloverleaf Mall in the 1900 block of Arcadia Street.
When officers arrived, they caught two suspects in the act of breaking into vehicles – Paul Smith, 33, and Alvis McGlown, 40, both of Hattiesburg.
The two men were arrested and each were charged with one count of auto burglary. Smith was also charged with possession of a controlled substance (meth).
Both suspects were booked at the Forrest County Jail.
