Known for his jovial spirit and love for Christmas, Jerry was a beacon of joy, warmth, and generosity. His life was characterized by the love he had for his family, friends, and even strangers he met on his journey.
Born to the late Eugene and Betty Colbert, Jerry was raised in a close-knit family. He was the beloved brother to Betty Jordan, Sue Wright, and Nancy (Hoppy) Livermore, all of whom are still alive. Jerry’ love for family was evident in his enthusiasm for big family gatherings.
Jerry was a devoted father to his daughter, Sheri (Shannon) Lenderman, stepdaughter, Debbie (Stacy) Witcher, and he took immense pride in his role as a grandfather. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, Colton (Gracie) Lenderman, Clayton (Heather) Lenderman, and Nina Witcher. The arrival of his great-granddaughter, Janey Ann Lenderman, added a new layer of joy to his life. Jerry’s love for his family was paramount, and he took every opportunity to express it.
Jerry was a man of simple pleasures. He loved driving his dog around on his golf cart, a sight that was familiar to all his neighbors and friends. His love for Christmas was legendary, and his home was the epitome of the holiday spirit every December. Jerry’s zest for life was infectious, and he was known to say that he never met a stranger. His welcoming nature and sense of humor endeared him to everyone he met. A significant part of Jerry’s life was his best friend, Mary Bean.
