Eddy Lamar Bullock (78) passed away at 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Forrest General Hospital surrounded by his family.
Eddy was born in Seminary, MS on June 17, 1943. He was born and raised in Mississippi, but he moved to Texas for a short time before returning to south Mississippi, where he worked as the Safety Manager at Howard Transportation in Ellisville for 21 years.
Eddy had three daughters and gained two more daughters after marrying his wife Katherine of almost 30 years. It was a blended family, but Eddy referred to all of them as his “gurls.” Eddy was a loving husband, a wonderful father, and a caring Papa. He was a quiet man, but when he spoke it was important. Eddy could often be found sitting in his swing, watching NASCAR or mowing his immaculate yard. An enthusiast of American climate patterns, he was the weatherman we never knew we needed.
He was preceded in death by his father, L.B. Bullock, and his mother, Hattie Bullock, of Seminary.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Bullock, and five daughters: Lisa Simmons (Dale) of Purvis, Kim Bullock of Cypress, TX, Leslie Shattles (Nicholas) of Purvis, Jamie Deen (Josh) of Edmond, OK and Brittney Miller (Sam) of Madison. He had seven grandchildren: Sarah Simmons, Caroline Deen, Gracie Bullock, Jack Deen, Hayden Shattles, Nolan Shattles, and Rowan Miller, and one sister Ann Bullock McDaniel of Houston, TX.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 12, 2022, at Billy M. King Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins, MS. His nephew, Pastor Harry Brown, will be officiating the graveside service. Pallbearers will be Josh Deen, Nicholas Shattles, Sam Miller, Michael Foster, Hayden Shattles, Jack Deen, Jeramy Jeter and honorary pallbearers Nolan Shattles and Dale Simmons. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
