Two Hattiesburg residents have been arrested in connection to a shooting at the intersection of Main Street and East 8th Street in the Hub City that left one man injured last month.
At approximately 11:30 a.m. on July 25, officers from the Hattiesburg Police Department responded to a call of a shooting at the corner of those two streets, where they found a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for the non-life-threatening injury.
Upon investigating the incident, officers determined the crime involved two suspects, who were identified as 25-year-old Keon Ray Shawn Griffin and 27-year-old Jasna Nicole Wright, both of Hattiesburg. Warrants were issued for their arrests, and on August 22, Griffin and Wright were expedited to Hattiesburg from Lawton, Oklahoma.
Both individuals were booked into the Forrest County Correctional Facility and charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Law enforcement officials have determined the shooting was an isolated incident.
The case is still under investigation, and more information is expected to be released once it becomes available.
