A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with the recent shooting at Club 195 on the Forrest and Stone county line that left one woman dead and several other individuals wounded.
According to a Facebook post from the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office, 23-year-old Montrell Quinn II of Hattiesburg was taken into custody on November 1 and booked into the Forrest County Correctional Facility. He was charged with one count of attempted aggravated assault in relation to the incident.
Sherri Marengo, who serves as public information officer for the sheriff’s office, said deputies responded to the club – which is located on Old Highway 49 South at the county line – in the early morning hours of October 29 after receiving calls of shots fired during a private party at the venue. During the course of the investigation into the incident, police learned that three individuals had sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the shooting; one victim succumbed to her injuries.
Forrest County deputy coroner Lisa Klem identified the deceased victim as 21-year-old Jade Rhodes of Hattiesburg.
Investigators from the Forrest County Sherriff’s Department, along with the Hattiesburg Police Department Crime Scene Unit, recovered dozens of shell casings from various calibers of weapons at the scene of the crime.

“We are urging the public to help us bring these individuals to justice,” Forrest County Sheriff Charlie Sims said. “The FCSO is currently processing search warrants to access more detailed information about this tragic incident.
“People were at a party just having fun when certain individuals chose to settle a disagreement with gunfire. We need to get back to basics and teaching our children love and respect for others.”
Capt. John Tryner, lead investigator with the sheriff’s department, said no other information is available at this time.
