Officials from the Petal Police Department are investigating a burglary at a city pawn shop where four suspects made entrance into the building and stole 19 firearms from the premises.
Sergeant Jeremy Brown with PPD said the burglary took place in the early morning hours of October 6 at Lott’s Pawn & Gun, located at 410 East Central Avenue in Petal. Video surveillance of the incident shows four unknown black male suspects that gained entrance by breaking the front windows of the shop.
“(The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) has been notified; we’ve been talking with them with the information we’ve got and are passing it on to them,” Brown said. “We have a couple of different angles as far as video cameras, some pictures, still shots, and we’re currently sifting through those, trying to get the best images we can on them.”
The suspects fled the scene in a four-door, light-colored Kia Soul in an unknown direction.
Anyone with information on the incident is being asked to call PPD at (601) 544-5331 or Metro Crime Stoppers at (601) 582-7867 for a possible reward.
“We have video of them entering the shop, and that’s been released,” Brown said. “They were in there a total of 15 seconds.
“They busted out a glass to the front door and entered there.”
