One person was killed and multiple others injured after a recent shooting at Club 195 on Old Highway 49 South near the Forrest and Stone county line.
Sherri Marengo, public information officer with the Forrest County Sheriff’s Department, said officers responded to the site in the early morning hours of October 29 after receiving calls of shots fired during a private party at the club. During the course of the investigation into the incident, officials learned that three individuals had sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the shooting; one victim succumbed to her injuries.
Forrest County deputy coroner Lisa Klem identified the deceased victim as 21-year-old Jade Rhodes of Hattiesburg.
Investigators from the Forrest County Sherriff’s Department, along with the Hattiesburg Police Department Crime Scene Unit, recovered dozens of shell casings from various calibers of weapons at the scene of the crime.

“We are urging the public to help us bring these individuals to justice,” Forrest County Sheriff Charlie Sims said. “The FCSO is currently processing search warrants to access more detailed information about this tragic incident.
“People were at a party just having fun when certain individuals chose to settle a disagreement with gunfire. We need to get back to basics and teaching our children love and respect for others.”
Capt. John Tryner, lead investigator with the sheriff’s department, said no other information is available at this time.
