An officer from the Hattiesburg Police Department recently was arrested on one count of simple domestic assault.
HPD officer Rodrick Frelix was taken into custody by HPD on June 24 on the charge.
“We want to assure the community that we hold our officers accountable to the same ethical standards that we are sworn to uphold,” said a statement issued by Tate Rutland, public information officer with the Hattiesburg Police Department.
Because Frelix’s arrest is considered a personnel matter, HPD officials are unable to futher comment on the case.
Additional information will be released as it is made available by the police department.
