A 15-year-old Hattiesburg resident has been charged with attempted first-degree murder after allegedly stabbing a woman during an altercation.
Tate Rutland, public information officer with the Hattiesburg Police Department, said police responded at approximately 7:55 p.m. on November 19 to Country Club Road after receiving a report regarding an aggravated assault incident at that location. Upon arrival, officers discovered a female victim who was suffering from multiple stab wounds sustained after an argument between her and the suspect turned violent.
The 15-year-old was taken into custody and booked into the Forrest County Correctional Facility. Because of his age, he was booked as a juvenile and his identity will not be released.
Because of the nature of an ongoing investigation regarding the incident, no further information is available as of press time.
