For just the second time in school history, Southern Miss will host a Super Regional as the Golden Eagles will face Tennessee.
This is the third overall Super Regional appearance in program history and comes after Southern Miss hosted Ole Miss last season.
Southern Miss will face Tennessee starting on Saturday with that game set for 2 p.m. and will be broadcasted on ESPNU. Sunday and Monday's if necessary game times will be announced later in the week.
This comes after Southern Miss (45-18) won the Auburn Regional on Monday while Tennessee (41-19) won the Clemson Regional as the No. 2 seed on Sunday. In their respective regionals, the Golden Eagles defeated the No.13 seed Auburn, Samford and Penn while the Vols took down No. 8 Clemson and Charlotte.
This will be the first time that a team under Southern Miss coach Scott Berry will have ever played Tennessee. The Golden Eagles hold an all-time record of 2-6 against the Vols with the last meeting between the programs occurring in 1992.
