Laughs 4 Life returns for yet another night of comedic relief and fundraising Friday, July 29 at Hattiesburg’s historic Saenger Theater. Headlining this year’s event will be Leanne Morgan. Joining Morgan will be special guests James Austin Johnson and Keith Alberstadt.
With more than 22 years in comedy, Morgan has established herself as a must-watch performer with her highly relatable story-telling approach in which she discusses everything from being a housewife, a grandmother, and a quintessential Southerner. She is currently in the midst of the incredibly popular Big Panty Tour spanning more than 100 cities throughout the U.S.
Sharing the stage as a special guest opening for Morgan will be one of Saturday Night Live’s most versatile and popular new comedians, James Austin Johnson. Known in many circles for his spot-on impressions of celebrities including Donald Trump and Joe Biden, Johnson is quickly becoming a household name amongst comedy’s most exciting new talents. Keith Alberstadt, an alum of past L4L shows, will be returning as an opener along with Hub City Comedy’s own Jamie Arrington in a night destined to be full of laughs.
Adding to the excitement surrounding this year’s event, Laughs 4 Life will be presented by Jones and their presence will be felt throughout the evening’s festivities, including the ever popular block party Delivered by Jones Logistics and pre-show entertainment inside the theater prior to the 7:30 comedic start. Tickets for Laughs 4 Life will go on sale to the public Friday, May 13 at 10am. The link to purchase tickets can be accessed at laughs4life.com.
“Leanne Morgan truly is one of the gems in comedy, and we are ecstatic to have her headline this year’s show,” stated Laughs 4 Life founder and organizer Kent Oliver. “Her relatability, Southern charm, and genuine compassion is a perfect fit for the Pine Belt and everything we set out to accomplish through Laughs 4 Life.”
All proceeds from the event are being distributed by Laughs 4 Life via The PineBelt Foundation and will once again be supporting the International Myeloma Foundation, the Laughs 4 Life Therapy Lounge within Children’s of Mississippi, and research initiatives taking place locally at the Forrest General Cancer Center. Through five years of fundraising efforts, Laughs 4 Life has been responsible for distributing more than $820,000 to its partner beneficiaries.
“What is enduring about Jones are our core values in which we are unwilling to waiver. We at Jones are in the business of changing lives through the creation of jobs and helping make the communities that we live in better. We are excited to support Laughs 4 Life and help achieve the goal of raising over $1 million for beneficiaries.” said Jonathan Jones, CEO, Jones Capital.
