The Pine Belt Kiwanis Club is gearing up for one of Hattiesburg’s favorite holiday-season traditions as it prepares to host its annual Pancake Day fundraiser on Saturday, December 6, at the Sigler Center.
The beloved event, first launched in 1962, helps the small but active civic club raise the funds it donates throughout the year to children’s programs across the Pine Belt. Last year’s Pancake Day brought in more than $17,500 — money the club immediately put back into the community.
In 2025, the club has contributed more than $16,000 to a wide range of local organizations, including DREAM, Kids Hub, the Woodley Backpack Program, the DuBard School for Language Disorders, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, United Christian Ministries, Dixie Youth Baseball and others. Funds raised from this year’s event will continue that mission, supporting children’s needs.
This year, the club hopes to surpass all previous totals by reaching a fundraising goal of $20,000 through a combination of ticket sales and corporate sponsorships.
