Keesler Federal Credit Union announced Wednesday that it ranked #1 in Mississippi on the Forbes list of “America’s Best-In-State Credit Unions 2025” in the annual survey just released by the magazine.
This is the sixth time Keesler Federal has earned the recognition from the Forbes annual survey listing America’s best credit unions, which began in 2018. As with all Forbes lists, companies pay no fee to participate or be selected.
“It’s very gratifying to be recognized again by the people of our state for the work we do every day on behalf of our members,” said Andy Swoger, President and CEO of Keesler Federal. “Our reputation is built by always going the extra mile.”
A total of 222 credit unions, or about 4 percent of credit unions in the nation, were recognized this year by Forbes.
To create the ranking, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista and surveyed approximately 26,000 U.S. residents. Respondents were asked how satisfied they were and how likely they were to recommend the credit union where they have a checking or savings account, those at which they had an account with the last three years, and those they knew through family and friends. Participants were also asked to rate their credit union on factors including trust, customer service and quality of financial advice given and whether fees were transparent and reasonable. Additionally, Statista also gathered more than 500,000 publicly available text reviews in creating the ranking.
Keesler Federal currently has more than $4.2 billion in assets, 335,000 members, and 41 branch locations across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. On July 1, Keesler Federal will officially merge with Jefferson Financial Federal Credit Union of Metairie, LA, in the largest credit union merger in Louisiana and Mississippi history.
With the merger, Keesler Federal will grow to $5 billion in assets, with more than 380,000 members and 55 branch locations.
