Friends Fly South, formerly known as Rayziano & Friends, is a collective of musicians from around the Pine Belt. They are also proud to be the House Band for the Thirsty Hippo.
The group got together through church and college at the University of Southern Mississippi. Their music is rooted in funk with a pop music structure of today’s time with the surprise element of jazz thrown on top.
The band’s influences stem from Snarky Puppy to Herbie Hancock and Weather Report to any Gospel artist.
Their music is meant to make you move and groove, but you can also sit and think with it.
But no matter what, this collective has fun point blank period and they invite you to join in that fun Friday night.
Band members include Ray Bradford, Bass; Garrick Pitts - Sax; Colman Grinnell - Trumpet; Jeffery Reynolds - Keys; Darius Scott - Keys; Adam McPhail - Guitar; Ben Langston - Guitar; Marlon Huddleston - Percussion; and Josh Reynolds - Drums.
