Comedian Frank Caliendo is making a return trip to the Hub City three years after kicking off Laughs 4 Life in 2016.
Tickets for the Aug. 2 event go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 29, through www.laughs4life.com.
“We want to welcome back to the Saenger Theater stage the incredibly talented Frank Caliendo with opener Keith Alberstadt for the fourth annual Laughs 4 Life,” said event organizer Kent Oliver.
“Forrest General Hospital is serving as marquee sponsor and, helping our efforts to take aim at cancer through comedy.”
Hub City Comedy's own Jamie Arrington will serve as host for a fourth straight year. A block party will be hosted prior to the event just outside the Saenger Theater featuring none other than one of Hattiesburg's most popular musical acts, Madewood Street Music. The block party will be open to the public and those with show tickets will be able to access the theater restrooms.
Caliendo, the inaugural L4L headliner in 2016, is returning by popular demand along with comedian Keith Alberstadt, who graced the Saenger stage in 2017.
According to Oliver, Laughs 4 Life was created as a way to bring the comfort of laughter to the community of Hattiesburg while raising awareness and funds for cancer research and patient focused initiatives.
To date more than $450,000 has been raised with proceeds going to the International Myeloma Foundation, the Forrest General Cancer Center, and for the first time we are partnering with Children's of Mississippi.
“As Children's grows through the construction of their new tower adjacent to the current Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson, Laughs 4 Life will be dedicating funds specifically for both physical space and programs aimed at generating smiles to families and patients during their time of care,” Oliver said.
