Forrest Health President/CEO Andy Woodard has resigned from his position, according to the Forrest Health Board of Trustees and Administration. Woodard’s decision to step down from this position, which he has held since January 2019, was solely his. Woodard will remain with the health system for the next 30 days to assist with a smooth transition.
The mission of Forrest Health will continue to remain steadfast in doing what is best for the patient.
Forrest Health has seen growth through the addition of physicians, specialists, and state-of-the-art facilities. The health system has grown to include seven hospitals with Forrest General being its flagship, received designation as the state’s first American College of Surgeons verified Level II Trauma Center, received bariatric accreditation, houses the state’s largest cancer clinical trials program, opened the Forrest Health Institute of Neuroscience allowing patients to seek surgery locally, continued advancements and expansions in award-winning cardiology services, and Family Medicine Residency Clinic physicians ranked fourth in the nation for board scores. All of these accomplishments and many more, are due to the dedication and hard work of Forrest Health’s executive leadership team, medical professionals, and staff.
As Forrest Health grows its services, it will also continue to support the many worthwhile causes of its local communities through student programs, Spirit of Women, partnerships, and outreach.

The Board thanks Andy for the 23 years he contributed to Forrest Health’s success, serving as Assistant Controller, Reimbursement Manager, Revenue Cycle Manager, Director of Finance, and Chief Financial Officer before assuming the role of President/CEO. The Board wishes Andy well in his future endeavors and appreciates all the hard work he has done for Forrest Health.
