Forrest General Hospital’s Marketing and Communications Department was honored with seven Maggies at the Mississippi Hospital Association’s 35th Annual Maggie Awards ceremony. Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services also won an award. This annual event, which was held December 1 in Madison, is designed to recognize excellence in marketing and public relations efforts of hospitals across the entire state of Mississippi.
Forrest General received Maggies for:
• 2021 Annual Report, which included an overview of the hospital’s 2021 Fiscal Year
• Digital Social Media for its Mother’s Day Campaign, which featured “All the ways a mother says I love you”
• Spirit of Women’s Girl Talk video, which provided a free, digital opportunity for pre-teens to learn about and prepare for changes occurring with their maturing bodies
• Television advertising, which featured an upbeat commercial about the hospital’s many services
• Heart Strong Digital Advertising, which promoted the hospital’s Heart and Vascular Services
• Spirit of Women’s Spring Refresh Poster – an event held in partnership with Anderson Design Center in Hattiesburg
• Spirit of Women’s ’Tis the Season Public Relations Campaign, a partnership with 12 local restaurants, Forrest General’s Food and Nutrition Services, and local Corner Market grocery stores, which helped educate and provide resources for keeping celebrations healthy.
Pine Grove won an award for internal writing for an article titled, “Spirituality and Recovery” by David Sellers, Pine Grove’s Spirituality coordinator.
“To have the Marketing & Communications team bring home seven Maggie Awards is a testament that the work they do is an integral part of the caring and compassionate service we offer for our community’s healthcare needs,” said Millie Swan, vice president.
The Mississippi Hospital Association (MHA) is the state organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. More than 100 hospitals, health care systems, networks, other providers of care and their more than 50,000 employees come together to form MHA. Through their representation and advocacy activities, MHA ensures that members' perspectives and needs are heard and addressed in national and state health policy development, legislative and regulatory debates and judicial matters.
