The Panthers open the first round of the Class 1A playoffs with a win and move to 7-4 overall. Lumberton will travel to play Taylorsville, which defeated West Bolivar 56-0.
FCAHS 24, Northeast Jones 16
The Aggies win their first playoff game since 2014 and moves to 6-4 overall. FCAHS will travel to play Poplarville in the second round of the Class 4A playoffs. The Hornet defeated Lanier 58-26 in their opening round matchup.
Quitman 40, Sumrall 20
The Bobcats end their season with a 4-6 overall record as they fall in the opening round of the Class 4A playoffs.
Raleigh 44, North Forrest 14
The Eagles’ season ends in the first found of the Class 2A playoffs and finish the year with a 4-7 record.
Jackson Academy 24, PCS 14
The Bobcats end their season in the first round of the MAIS 6A playoffs and finish with a record of 3-8.
THURSDAY SCORES
Oak Grove 48, Petal 21
The Warriors conclude the regular season with a 9-1 mark and clinch a No. 2 seed in the Class 7A playoffs and will host Biloxi. Petal’s season ends as the Panthers fall to 4-6 overall and 1-4 in region play.
West Jones 37, Hattiesburg 7
The Tigers finish regular season with a 7-3 overall record and 3-1 in region play. Hattiesburg clinches a No. 2 seed in the Class 6A playoffs and will host Pascagoula in the opening round.
