Hattiesburg 48, George County 21
The Tigers stay perfect and move to 6-0. Quarterback Deuce Vance threw for 203 yards and four touchdowns. Wide receiver Tristen Keys came down with four catches for 116 yards and three touchdowns, while Tyree Barnett came down with three catches for 84 yards and a touchdown. On defense, Cameron Craft led the Tigers with eight tackles and one tackles for loss, while Ra’Marion Wilson came down with an interception. Hattiesburg will enjoy a bye before hosting Forest Hill to open region play.
Lumberton 36, Enterprise-Lincoln 25
The Panthers stay perfect to start region action as they move to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in region action. Quarterback Lathen Bowens passed for 201 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 265 yards and three scores. Wide receiver Chase Toney came down with eight catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, Kaleb Young and ChaKobe Adams each recorded 11 tackles, four TFLs and two sacks. Adams also forced out two fumbles. Lumberton returns home to host East Marion (1-5, 0-2).
PCS 34, Bay High 13
The Bobcats move to 4-2 overall. Quarterback Smith Stringer threw 203 yards and a touchdown. Edward Ruffin ran for three touchdowns and also recorded three TFLs on defense. PCS will travel to face Jackson Prep for district play. The Patriots (7-0, 2-0) defeated West Jones 42-7 last week.
Sumrall 24, Lawrence County 12
The Bobcats get the first win of the season and open region action with a win as they improve to 1-5 overall. Sumrall will host rival Purvis next week.
FCAHS 21, Purvis 7
The Aggies open region play with victory as they move to 3-3 overall, while the Tornadoes drop to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in region action. The Aggie defense was led by Cortez Sims who posted 17 total tackles, four TFLs, one sack and a forced fumble. Trevaughn Robinson recorded 15 rackleks and three TFLs. For Purvis Paxton Cooper had five catches for 65 yards and a touchdown and on defense totaled 10 tackles. Purvis will travel to face rival Sumrall. FCAHS will host Columbia (3-3), which comes off a 42-41 loss to Gautier.
Picayune 24, Petal 21
The Maroon Tide snap Petal’s four-game win streak as they drop to 4-2 overall. The Panthers host Brandon to start region play. The Bulldogs (4-1) won their second straight game after shutting out Gulfport 42-0 last week.
East Marion 8, Sacred Heart 7
The Eagles get their first win of the season against Sacred Heart. Running back Adam Sneed ran for 164 yards and a touchdown. The Crusaders drop to 5-1 overall and 0-1 in region play. Sacred Heart travels to face Salem next week.
Collins 27, North Forrest 0
The Eagles drop their fourth straight game as they fall to 1-5 overall and 0-1 in region play. The Eagles go on the road to face Heidelberg next week.
Oak Grove was on a bye this week but return to action to host Meridian. The Wildcats (4-2) come off a 31-17 victory over Harrison Central to extend their win streak to three straight games.
