FestivalSouth® has opened the call for arts organizations and visual and performing artists with events May 28 – June 22 to apply to be part of the FestivalFringe. Selected groups will enjoy free publicity in many of FestivalSouth’s media opportunities. All applications must be received no later than April 1 with earlier postings receiving priority consideration. Visit festivalsouth.org, click on “Get Involved,” and submit information.
“Fringe festivals are popular worldwide, with the largest being in Edinburg, Scotland,” said Lopinto, Artistic Director of FestivalSouth. “This gives more performers and organizations the opportunity to showcase their talents while people are in search of artistic endeavors as part of the larger festival. We hope our creative colleagues in the area will take advantage of the promotional opportunities of this collective experience.”
Events considered for FestivalFringe are high-quality arts events with a successful track record for engaging the community with diverse educational and entertaining programming for the Pine Belt. Events that conflict with FestivalSouth scheduled events may only be considered if the audience is deemed to be disparate enough as not to impact either event.
Selected events will be listed as FestivalFringe and included in all places possible in advertising materials. FestivalSouth asks for reciprocal mention of FestivalSouth, with their logos where possible, in all printed or posted materials online or elsewhere, and verbal mention of inclusion in the festival.
