Dr. Charles L Belknap is a native of Crystal Springs, Mississippi, and a 2001 graduate of Mississippi College (MC). He was an exchange student in Mainz, Germany, from 2001–2002 before beginning dental school. After completing his dental degree in 2006 and pediatric residency in 2008 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, he moved to Hattiesburg, where he now practices with the Pediatric Dental Groups of Hattiesburg and Laurel.
Dr. Belknap served on the MDA Board of Trustees as District III Trustee before becoming the MDA Second Vice President in 2023. He is a member of the ADA, AAPD, and MAPD. He has enjoyed serving on the MC Medical and Dental Association Board and was the 2022 MC Biology Department Distinguished Alumnus.
On July 1st, 2025, Dr. Charles Belknap will take seat as the President of the MDA. He has served the MDA in many capacities over the years, bringing experience, dedication, and leadership to the role. He loves the dental profession that not only allows him to serve his patients, but also to spend time at church, outdoors, and at sporting events with his wife Claire and children Katherine, Georgia, and Thomas.
Dr. Belknap understands the significance of the MDA and the issues that organized dentistry must confront. He is aware of the challenges and opportunities that our dental profession faces and has made it a commitment to do his part to champion the profession.
