As the days get shorter and winter descends on the Northern Hemisphere, woodland creatures everywhere snuggle in their homes for a long, cold winter.
Even the Hattiesburg Pocket Museum’s alley mice gather in their tiny abodes and celebrate the holiday known as “Christmouse." Much like “human” holiday celebrations, cookies are baked, lights are strung and the family gathers by the warm fireplace. The joy of the season is celebrating with family, and the HPM’s mice friends have uncles, aunts and children galore who have come together to celebrate “Christmouse!"
Special thanks to Blake Fortenberry (Fortenberry Woodworks) who built this “forever home” complete with an elevator for the mice of the Hattiesburg Pocket Museum! This is the second year Blake’s art has been featured in the Hattiesburg Pocket Museum.
