Community leaders gathered at William Carey University on Friday for a luncheon featuring a visit from Congressman Mike Ezell. Ezell represents District 4 of the state in the United States House of Representatives and serves on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the House Committee on Natural resources.
Ezell also serves on the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management, Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources, as Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife and Fisheries and as Chair of the Subcomittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation.
In his visit to the university, Ezell outlined many of the top priorities being addressed at the Capitol including tax breaks, supply chains, protection of mineral resources, raises for military servicemembers, transportation infrastructure, securing the border, expansion of mental health programs, home ownership affordability and emphasized the importance of and emphasis he places on smalltown America.
Ezell boasts a background of 42 years in law enforcement including eight years as Sheriff of Jackson County before assuming office at the Capitol in January of 2023.
