Hub City Service Dogs is hosting the 2022 Dog Days 5K and 2 Mile Walk. As part of FestivalSouth, the seventh annual dog-friendly Dog Days 5K event will be on June 11th at Kamper Park in Hattiesburg.
“We are excited and have a great event planned for this year,” said Hub City Service Dogs Executive Director, Angela Davis-Morris. “Every year it gets bigger and better and we are happy to continue our partnership with FestivalSouth for another successful year.”
Kicking off at 7:30 a.m., the race tours through the Avenues of Hattiesburg, down Mamie Street and Concart Street, ending near the Hattiesburg Zoo. The event will include breakfast from Topher’s, food from local vendors, live entertainment, door prizes and an event favorite, the run by dog pageant judged by local celebrities (The dogs will be judged during the run and identified by participant bib numbers). Additionally, all participants who complete their event will receive a limited edition event shirt (if registered by June 1st) and a custom finisher medal. The race will be professionally timed by Diva Timing.
Registration is $25 per participant. Event-day registration will be available for $35 the morning of the race. Proceeds will benefit Hub City Service Dogs, Inc., a nonprofit organization that helps place and custom train service dogs with individuals who demonstrate a true need.
“This is our seventh Dog Days event, and we are excited for the participants to experience what this year’s event will offer,” said Davis-Morris. “Each year, we strive to grow the event while creating more awareness for our organization. This event has raised almost $100,000 for Hub City Service Dogs over these few years and it has helped us greatly in meeting the needs of our clients.”
