Reader alert! These are the (self-proclaimed) ramblings of an old man with a computer and too much time on his hands and too little adult supervision.
There is a war raging in America, at a time when the nation is in the hands of a feeble and cognitively impaired president and Commander in Chief and his administration of sycophantic inept caddies. The war occurs daily throughout America over several related battlefields, each with the potential for serious impact on America’s future. It is a citizen’s war. Every American is engaged, either by active participation or by default.
America’s economy is “on the ropes” fighting for its life. Inflation is slowly bleeding our economy of its vitality, devouring consumers’ wealth and savings, making it difficult for poor and middle-class Americans to feed their families, pay their bills and clothe their children. Preserving a healthy economy is vital to the life, happiness and well-being of every American. This is the battle that could force Americans to alter their lifestyles to fit the lowered standards for living the American Dream.
The recent U.S. Supreme Court decision regarding abortion is the battle currently making headlines. The abortion struggle is the latest battle associated with the greater war raging in America for several years. This war is being fought for the soul of America, for existence of the America that was born in 1776 with the Declaration of Independence and solidified by the United States Constitution. There are two sides in this war. The two sides are far apart in how they view the matter of abortion and what they believe. One side consists of those persons who desire the legal right to murder unborn children. They believe it is a woman’s right to choose life or death for her unborn child. The opposing side is home to those persons who wish to make the abortion (murder) of unborn children a crime under law. More than any other issue dividing America, abortion arouses the greatest level of participation by the masses along with their willingness to employ violence and threats of harm to opponents, some of them judges and officials, who oppose their goals.
Upon closer scrutiny of the abortion issue, it is possible to discover a second, deeper and broader war with possibly very destructive consequences for America. The second war is being fought between two diametrically opposing forces, one dedicated to maintaining the Christian faith brought to America by the first people to conquer and settle the nation. They are opposed by an element attempting to transform America into a secular nation of godless people dedicated to the eradication of spiritual values founded upon Christian doctrine and teaching. The outcome of this war may determine the future of America and much of the Earth that holds to the Christian God-Fearing manner of life. This school is founded upon Christian values and Biblical doctrine and holds to the belief that God is the creator of all human life and that only He may take life.
The life and death battle against crime and violence occurs every day in America. The fighting is between police and law-abiding citizens for control of our streets and places where people work and congregate. The symptoms of the current climate of crime and violence are everywhere; senseless mass shootings, car jackings, smash and grab robberies of businesses by gangs of hooded criminals, subway attacks on innocent persons, drive-by shootings. The culture of random crime and violence has turned America’s streets and environs into hazardous places to live, educate our children, shop and conduct the activities associated with the pursuit of the American Dream, life, liberty and happiness.
How did things go so wrong and ugly in America? Answer: We removed God from America. We took our eyes off what made America Great in the beginning, faith in God, His Commandments and the teachings of His son, Jesus Christ. What has brought America to this current state of existence, characterized by chaos, disorder and disrespect for the rule of law? Answer: Weakening of the traditional American family, with its Christian influence on the youth of America, largely explains the decline of America. It is fair and accurate to say that defunding police began America’s descent into our present state of disorder and runaway crime and violence. Appropriating more funding for law enforcement, not less, is necessary to pay police what they’re worth, properly train them and attract more and better qualified men and women to careers in law enforcement.
Where do we go now? What do we do? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to find the cause of the wave of crime and violence currently savaging some of America’s big cities and what must be done. It must start by cleaning up the cesspool we call politics in America. The movement by liberal politicians to defund police is a leading cause of the surge in crime and violence. Police are among the favorite targets of the big city Democrat leftist politicians, soft-on-crime judges and District Attorneys who side with criminals against the men and women in blue striving to protect lives, enforce the laws and maintain order on our streets and in our neighborhoods. Combatting crime and violence in America, making our streets and schools safe, requires the removal of those persons who shield criminals while occupying official positions and masquerading as servants and protectors of the public interest.
The battles America fights daily--- preserving the lives of unborn infants, securing our borders against illegal aliens, defending our cities against the criminals who sow violence and chaos that render some of our cities uninhabitable---these are the things that are consuming America’s strength and resources and distracting our government from other problems that need attention; homelessness, education, affordable healthcare, programs that restore the American family to its historic influence in America’s culture, ensuring America’s readiness to deter and fight wars and healing the divide that separates Americans into opposing and hostile camps along political lines.
Where do we go now and what do we do? The answers to these questions are obvious but, as Clausewitz stated about war, “everything in war is very simple, but the simplest thing is difficult”. The war America is currently fighting, with all of the associated battles across the spectrum of America’s, life will not be easily won. The actions that need to be taken by America to win the battles we’re fighting are simple and obvious but very difficult to accomplish.
Starting with the battle to save our economy, there are measures that can be taken by government to combat inflation. Eliminating wasteful and foolish government spending amounting to billions of taxpayer dollars will free funding for more essential programs addressing the problems of caring for the homeless, upgrading K-12 schools, caring for the elderly and funding measures that enhance quality of life for military families.
Significant savings are possible from cutting funds that support government bureaucratic offices that administer the handout of VIP travel and related perks. This will be a formidable task. Government officials and their bureaucrat pencil-pushers will fight savagely to preserve their palaces of computers and high-tech digital weaponry essential for gathering and demonstrating the proof of their worth. History provides little or no evidence of a government bureaucracy dying willingly or gracefully. Cutting government bureaucracy must be done with a butcher’s axe, not a surgeon’s scalpel. Purging the Washington swamp of bureaucratic waste and mismanagement of taxpayer wealth requires sacrifice and pain.
Winning the battle for America’s economy starts at the top, with the President of the United States. At a time when America faces unprecedented crises at home and abroad, when strong and courageous leadership is absolutely demanded, a feeble and confused president, surrounded by his stable of incompetent advisors and horse-holders, occupies the White House and attempts to guide the government. Biden appears to have neither the courage nor the understanding of the workings of a national or global economy required to take the kinds of measures needed to manage the economic crisis currently facing America. Biden’s shortcomings in managing domestic and foreign affairs are hugely magnified by the incompetence of his key economic and financial advisors.
The war to secure America’s southern border and prevent the passage of illegal immigrants has become a “bridge too far.” Millions of illegal immigrants, many of them criminals, have crossed the border into America and been secretly transported by government aircraft into locations for settlement in areas not expecting or prepared for their arrival. Now the task for America is to accommodate the new arrivals with housing, education, health care and other of the necessities for life in America before being assigned to a fate of homelessness and street crime, all at the expense of the American taxpayer, you and me, and our children. Owing to Biden’s Open Border policy America will likely be forced, far into the future, to contend with the problems that accompany the arrival of hordes of illegal immigrants, creating needs for homes, education, health care and legal services.
In my lifetime, America has not been confronted, at the same time, by the array of malign forces and issues presently challenging America on so many fronts--- abortion, economics/inflation, immigration/borders, crimes and violence, drugs (fentanyl), war in Ukraine, divisions that threaten the unity of America, disunity that threatens to sunder the nation beyond repair. This is happening to America while being led by the weakest and most ineffective government in our history, presided over by a president and administration totally lacking in the ability to lead and inspire America through a period of domestic and international strife of historic order. Biden’s childlike and unpresidential behavior following the Supreme Court abortion decision was an embarrassment to America, and the international community, and stands as additional evidence that Biden is not fit to be president of a great nation. When America needed a calming voice at the helm of state, Biden chose to stoke the fire created by the abortion decision and follow the examples of Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi and Elizabeth Warren, condemning the Supreme Court.
What’s ahead for America? Answering this question is causing much guessing and speculation from the ranks of self-professed prophets, soothsayers, fortune tellers, mystics and astrologers. There seems to exist a sizable element of America’s population who believes we’re living in the Biblical End Times. Only God knows.
Civil War is predicted by some who cite the growing animosity between the increasingly hostile warring elements of Democrats and Republicans competing for dominance of politics in America. According to these persons, the January 6 attack on America’s capitol represents the opening salvo in the coming civil war. The abortion battle moves the war between the two sides fighting for America’s identity and soul to a new level of anger and violence.
There is a pressing need for America to develop a better method for finding persons to fill the position of United States President. The current method, allowing two dominant political parties to run the show and provide Americans with candidates for the nation’s highest office is flawed. This method gave America Jimmy Carter, Richard Nixon, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump and Joe Biden. We must find a better way to select our top leadership. America’s survival depends on it.
Despite the hard times we’re currently facing, there is hope. America has faced tough times before and prevailed. We’re a resilient land of tough-minded people. We shall prevail again.
