Former Southern Miss starting quarterback Billy Wiles has entered the transfer portal.
On3sports first reported the news, which Pine Belt Sports has confirmed.
The move comes just one day after the Golden Eagles’ spring practices ended.
Wiles, who transferred in from Clemson, started 10 games for Southern Miss. Last season, Wiles threw for 1,934 yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 53% of his passes.
Wiles was in a four-way competition for the starting quarterback job which Florida State transfer Tate Rodemaker, sophomore Ethan Crawford, who played in six games last year, and true freshman John White.
